The sustainable properties of viscose depend on how the supplier sources the raw material and controls the chemical disposal. Hence having a TRUSTWORTHY partner is extremely important when sourcing viscose fabrics.

Wood Source

Woods are all PEFC certified

When sourcing viscose, the important factor is the source of the wood. All viscose fiber used for SF Fiber products are sourced from PEFC-certified wood from our partner Sateri.

PEFC, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management through independent third-party certification. PEFC has certified 307 million hectares and is the world's largest forest certification system.

Manufacturing

Fibers facilities certified in OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN

The manufacturing process is also a key factor in the sustainability of viscose fiber. Our viscose fiber partner, Sateri, is the first viscose supplier globally to complete Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM 3.0) – a sustainability assessment tool that standardizes how facilities measure and evaluate their environmental performance, year over year. All Sateri mills achieves a score of over 80%. They are also the first viscose fiber supplier rewarded as OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN.

Commitment

No to deforestation and endangered species

SF Fiber and our viscose fiber partner, Sareri, are committed to the highest standards from beginning to end. We commit to ethically source woods from suppliers that do not engage in deforestation. Sateri has been participating in the CanopyStyle audit to constantly improve its standard on sourcing wood. Sateri has taken a key role in founding the first viscose fiber alliance in China – the Collaboration for Sustainable Development of Viscose (CV) in May 2018. The CV includes 12 leading viscose suppliers in China which represent over 50% of the world Viscose Staple Fiber production.
